According to the American Chronic Pain Association, 86 million Americans are affected by chronic pain to some degree -- that's 1 out of every 3 Americans. Penny Cowan established the American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA) in 1980 to reach out to people with chronic pain. The ACPA is a non-profit, tax exempt organization with over 800 chapters in the United States, Canda, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Russia. The organization's purpose is to provide a support system for those suffering chronic pain through group activities. The Association publishes a newsletter, The ACPA Chronicle. A two-year subscription costs $10.00 (U.S. Dollars).
